"Mick"
Mick is a medium sized black male, 24 inches tall and 68 lbs, with beautiful side movement, outstanding prow and depth of chest. He has wonderful expression and excellent tight feet. He is extremely biddable and finished his CD with all 1st place wins (his first leg at our 2007 National Specialty). He finished his novice titles in field, rally, obedience, agility, and dock diving before he was 2 years old. He also won Best of Breed over 4 nationally ranked specials at just 2 years old. He has an incredibly sweet temperament and is the happiest dog I have ever met. He comes from a very successful litter of 5 Champions with multiple titles in field, agility, obedience and dock diving. He has a tremendous amount of drive in the field and will stop at nothing to get that bird! He will do anything asked of him, and will do it with a wagging tail. He is the light of my life and is my once in a lifetime dog.

"Lucie"
Lucie is an elegant 23" black bitch.....with gorgeous, flowing movement that earned her Championships in Canada and the US before her 2nd birthday. She finished her Canadian Championship in grand style with a Best of Breed win. She has excellent conformation, and a lovely one piece head with a gentle expression. She has beautiful dark eyes, solid topline, and nice length of body. She is extremely biddable, full of drive with a very bright and cheery personality. Her brother, BIS Am/Can Ch Blacklace Magic Mocha Sapphire "Koby", won a BIS in 2008, is a multiple Group placer, and has been nationally ranked since 2005. Lucie's favorite game is to get a toy, teasing the other 3 members of her flattie pack to chase her around the house. Her favorite pastime is cuddling with her dad - after retrieving tennis balls, of course.... Dad says he loves her best because she is his very affectionate partner who always wants to be in a "Flat-Coat Lean" on him.

Fun Facts:
There is so much thought and effort put into naming our beloved flat-coats. Generally speaking each litter born has a theme. The kennel in which the puppy comes from is generally the first word of the dog's name. Kathy and I got a kick out of the fact that Mick and Lucie's registered names were from the same era and same type of theme. I think they were destined to be bred.
Lucie is Blacklace In The Sky With Diamonds. Lucie In the Sky With Diamonds was the #1 song of the 60's by the Beatles.
Mick is Flashback's Paint It Black. Paint It Black was the #2 song of the 60's by the Rolling Stones, who's lead singer is of course Mick Jagger, thus the call name Mick.
Then the fun begins of coming up with the perfect name! This is Blacklace's "L" litter. So each of your puppies names will have Blacklace as the first word, then something that starts with an "L". Here are examples:

Here are a few photos of Lucie's visit to see Mick. Lucie spent the week with us and I can't say enough about what a sweetheart she is. She and Mick have been very cute together. Lucie has a wonderful personality, not to mention she is a beautiful girl, I am looking very forward to this litter.
